March 3, 2006, Newsletter Issue #73: Set aside time to grieve

Tip of the Week

If you become single again...

If you can accept that this is a loss, the best way to deal with the loss is to grieve, then you can heal and get on with your life. Set aside time each day to think about your ex. Put together a grieving box with old letters, or anything you might have that would bring back memories. Pick a quiet time when you have a chance to really devote this time to grieving.

Cry if you need to, write in a journal, do what ever you need to do during that time to get through it.

This is your private time to really express yourself and release all your emotions. When your time is up, it is up. You can put away your box and concentrate on other things.

When something is stirring up emotionally for you during the day, you know that you can reserve it for your grieving hour and won´t have to worry about it disrupting your whole day.
